WELCOME! and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Your wedding is the beginning of your married life together, and it should reflect your own joy and wishes. I am David "Fr. Dave" Doyle, an ordained priest who has officiated at over 700 ceremonies, ranging from non-religious (no mention of God or Jesus) dressed in a suit or judge's robe to extremely religious and "high church" with full Catholic vestments. Whether celebrating your wedding in the Sandia Resort, Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, Tanoan Country Club patio, the Rose Arboratum in Dubuque, Iowa, to a hotel courtyard in Albuquerque, every couple is supported and encouraged to express yourselves and make your wedding ceremony unique and personal. Each of you deserves the very best and personal attention that I have honed over years of marriage preparation and celebration, and ministries of hospital and police chaplaincies, educator and parish priest. I do not tell you what you have to have in your weddings, except what the State tells me... everything else we work out together to your satisfaction. Every couple has the right of final approval on your ceremony.
BISHOP DAVID DOYLE/ABUNDANT BLESSINGS WEDDING OFFICIANT HONORED
Fr. Dave was nominated as "Best Officiant" of 2013 by the Perfect Wedding Guide Bride's Select Awards.
THANK YOU! to the brides who nominated and voted for me this year as "Best Officiant" for 2013. It was my honor and privilege to be a part of your special day!
Through my business ABUNDANT BLESSINGS WEDDING OFFICIANT I work with each couple to make your ceremony personal and meaningful. Through years of working with couples I have gleaned wedding traditions including the lasso/lazo, arras/wedding coins, Unity Candle, Sand Ceremony, Heart Lock Ceremony, Tree Planting, Hand Fasting, Rose Ceremony, Rose to Mary ceremony, and others. It is very common to have blended families with small children involved, and including them is important to the parents who are marrying. I welcome same-sex couples as I believe marriage is a civil right.
Especially encouraged to investigate Abundant Blessings are couples who wish an interfaith (sometimes called "non-denominational" wedding) or a catholic wedding but have been prohibited in their churches by a divorce, children, cohabitation, or non-membership. Many couples wish an outside Catholic wedding and I have celebrated many outside Catholic weddings. It is my own spiritual journey that has allowed me the sensitivity to work with couples of various backgrounds and religious traditions who truly wish to incorporate their own cultural traditions and values in their special ceremony. Many couples wish an interfaith wedding or a religious or Catholic elements; these might include the Sign of the Cross, church vestments, blessing of the rings with Holy Water, and/or a Communion Service. As an ordained Catholic priest I respect the value of spiritual and religious traditions couples want to incorporate in their weddings, and an sensitive to balancing the desires of both parties in the wedding couple.
But not every person or couple is religious. No one is left out, however, because couples who wish a non-religious ceremony work with me to bring their own special traditions and desires into a ceremony they are happy to invite their friends, family, and co-workers to attend. Sensitivity to the couple's needs and desires is more important than any adherence to a specific religious or spiritual philosophy.
I also welcome lgbtq+ couples to choose Abundant Blessings because Love Wins. Each and every couple should be able to celebrate their love with their family and friends, and their family of choice. My husband Dan and I were married in 1996 in a religious ceremony and then legally in 2013. As such I am sensitive to couples... all couples... who wish to celebrate their love for each other. In the PHOTOS site you will find straight and gay couples' photos since weddings are a joyful event and should be celebrated.
